Proton's Lumo AI chatbot has introduced a new feature called Projects, providing users with a dedicated and encrypted space for managing long-term tasks. This update allows users to organize and secure information for projects spanning extended periods, such as academic papers or travel plans. Lumo now remembers all uploaded information and files, syncing them across devices to ensure seamless access without repetition.

Integration with Proton Drive enhances functionality by enabling easy document and file linking within chats. Users can tailor instructions for each project, and Proton assures that each project operates in its own encrypted environment, with no data used to train AI models. Lumo utilizes open-source AI models, including Nemo, OpenHands 32B, OLMO 2 32B, and Mistral Small 3.

The latest version of Lumo is available to all users, with free accounts limited to one project and unlimited projects available with a $10 monthly subscription to Lumo Plus. This enhancement positions Lumo as a competitive option in the increasingly crowded AI assistant market, where privacy and project management are growing priorities for users.
