PlayStation Plus subscribers are set to lose access to nine titles from the Extra and Premium catalogs on August 18, 2026. This includes popular games like Dead Island 2 and Harold Halibut, along with Bomber Crew, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Onee Chanbara Origin, Roki, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, Earth Defense Force 6, and Unicorn Overlord. Five of these were originally slated for removal in July, but their availability was extended.

This departure coincides with the addition of new games to the service, such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Rise of the Ronin for Extra and Premium tiers, and legacy titles like Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy for Premium members. Subscribers have until August 18 to play these titles on the service or consider purchasing them outright.

It's important to note that this is separate from the monthly free games offered to all PS Plus tiers. This latest catalog refresh highlights the shift towards digital-first gaming, with Sony also phasing out disc-based games and its next console, the PS6, expected to be digital-only. This trend is mirrored across the industry, with Xbox and Nintendo also emphasizing digital marketplaces and subscriptions.
