Adobe has updated Photoshop with Lightroom-style lighting controls and new AI-powered tools. The Light Adjustment Layer brings professional-grade exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, and blacks adjustments in a non-destructive layer, enabling RAW-quality edits without leaving Photoshop.

New AI features include "Instruct Edit with Masks" powered by Firefly Image 5, allowing precise edits like opening closed eyes or adding objects via text prompts while protecting unmasked areas. The Markup feature lets users draw directly on images — sketching arrows, shapes, or rough drawings — to guide AI generation. In demos, rough cat sketches and wall tiles were transformed into photorealistic elements.

Adobe also launched the AI Assisted Editor in beta, grouping tools like Prompt to Edit, Remove Background, Generative Expand, Generative Fill, Generative Upscale, and AI Markup into a dedicated natural-language interface. Additional updates include Dynamic Text for custom shapes and paths, plus a Stock Panel Integration with over 900 million Adobe Stock assets. All features are available now via Creative Cloud.
