Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, directors of 2025’s surprise hit *Final Destination: Bloodlines*, are set to revive the stalled *Metal Gear Solid* film. Signed to a new first‑look deal with Sony, they will lead the project at Columbia Pictures, replacing a succession of earlier attempts that have floundered for nearly two decades. Their horror pedigree should inject tension and visual flair.

Both filmmakers bring genre credibility; *Bloodlines* proved both a critical darling and a box‑office success, and they already have a slate that includes a *Gremlins* sequel for Warner Bros. and an animated Venom feature for Sony. Their challenge will be translating Kojima’s meta‑spy narrative and signature cardboard‑box stealth into a coherent cinematic experience, while navigating fan expectations for authenticity and complex lore.

The *Metal Gear Solid* adaptation has bounced through numerous incarnations—Avi Arad’s 2012 Sony push, Jordan Vogt‑Roberts’ 2014 attachment, and even Oscar Isaac’s rumored casting as Solid Snake in 2020. With the Arads still producing, Lipovsky and Stein now hold the reins, ultimately offering fans a realistic chance to finally see the iconic stealth hero on the big screen.
