California's new MyFirstEV program offers up to a $3,500 instant rebate for first-time electric vehicle buyers, aiming to boost clean transportation. This initiative, part of a larger $600 million state investment, provides significant savings on new zero-emission vehicles with an MSRP under $50,000.

For those considering a used EV, the program offers a $1,750 rebate on vehicles priced under $25,000. Eligibility is restricted to first-time EV purchasers, and the vehicles must be fully electric, excluding hybrids. The rebate can be applied directly at dealerships, reducing the purchase price instantly.

The MyFirstEV program is funded by a $270 million allocation, with half from the state budget and half from participating automakers. Beyond consumer incentives, California's investment also supports initiatives like the Community Air Protection Program and the Clean Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project, alongside expanding EV charging infrastructure.
