Meta has announced three major agreements to purchase nuclear power, securing 6.6 gigawatts of generation by 2035 for its AI infrastructure and the Prometheus supercluster in Ohio. The social media giant is partnering with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo to meet its massive energy needs. The deal with TerraPower involves developing new 'Natrium' reactors, which use sodium for cooling, potentially delivering up to 2.79 gigawatts of power.

Oklo, backed by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, will provide 1.2 gigawatts, creating thousands of jobs in Ohio. Meta's partnership with Vistra aims to extend the life and boost the output of existing plants in Ohio and Pennsylvania. This move highlights Big Tech's growing reliance on nuclear energy to fuel the AI boom, following similar deals by Microsoft to restart Three Mile Island.
