MacBook Air laptops are reportedly in short supply, with customers facing delivery delays until the end of August. Retail sources told Bloomberg's Mark Gurman that Apple is unusually steering buyers toward the base MacBook Pro instead of the Air, even including warnings that the Air is "subject to availability."

The shortage is partially linked to the ongoing "Ramaggedon" memory crunch, driven by insatiable demand from new AI data centers. Additionally, Apple is prioritizing the 14-inch MacBook Pro to clear stock ahead of an expected M6 refresh for that lineup.

While Apple recently beat Wall Street expectations, the company warned that supply constraints could impact future earnings and force further price increases. This comes as the new Apple Upgrade program may drive even higher demand for the MacBook lineup.
