How to stop Twitch from training AI on your streams

Twitch recently confirmed it will use streamers' content to train its generative AI models, automatically opting all users in. Within hours, nearly 14,000 people upvoted a forum comment demanding opt-in.\n\nUsers can opt out via Settings > Security and Privacy on web or mobile. Opting out only applies to generative AI, not features like Auto Mod or captions.

Chief product officer Mike Minton said opting out won't affect discoverability.\n\nMinton acknowledged the feature is opt-out by design because if it were opt-in, 'nobody would opt in.' He noted other platforms like YouTube and Meta also train on user content without offering opt-out, and that publicly available content is likely scraped regardless.
