This collaboration, announced in June 2026, aims to accelerate Honda's progress toward carbon neutrality by 2050 by prioritizing next-gen solid-state lithium-metal batteries over existing EV technologies.

By leveraging QuantumScape's expertise, Honda seeks solutions that promise greater range, faster charging speeds, and heightened safety. Specifically, the partnership aims to capitalize on anode-free technology to potentially double the extended range of current EV models. Honda's goal is to scale EV production to 100% of its sales by 2040.
