Many have paid the extra $20 for GTA 6's Ultimate Edition, but there's no rush to join them. The product of more than a decade of development, almost 5 million people had pre-ordered the digital download within days of the Netflix Extended Look. The Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99, $20 above the Standard Edition's $79.99, and has attracted almost 90 percent of pre-release sales.

The Ultimate Edition includes five exclusive shops: Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 clothing store, One-Eyed Willie's off-road mod shop and the Electric Fang Tattoo Parlor, plus extra side missions like PT T Youngin$ Compound and the Classic Car Collection. It also features three exclusive vehicles, weapon skins, and outfit packs. Rockstar states these bonuses are 'threaded' throughout the game and uncovered behind each chapter.

Sensor Tower reports 88.5 percent of PlayStation and 90 percent of Xbox pre-orders are for the Ultimate Edition, far above the typical 10 to 20 percent for premium editions. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick admitted pre-orders are skewing toward the premium edition. However, since the Ultimate Edition offers no early access and upgrades are available post-launch, the extra $20 may not be worth it unless the cosmetics and side missions strongly appeal to you.
