GTA 6 Gameplay Leaks Reveal Map, RPG Mechanics

GTA 6 gameplay footage has leaked online despite Rockstar Games' efforts to contain it. Two minute-long clips and a screenshot of the Leonida map — a compact, distorted version of south Florida — are circulating, prompting DMCA takedowns from the publisher. The map shows a large Miami-inspired city on the east coast, extensive greenspace, numerous islands resembling the Florida Keys, and markers including a safehouse, vehicles, and an alligator.

The first clip features Jason, one of two protagonists, at a waterside safehouse. He performs basketball shots, earning a focus stat boost that suggests RPG mechanics. A focus bar appears on the HUD alongside familiar dollar values. The building matches an official screenshot labeled as Jason's safehouse.

The second clip shows Jason causing a collision, fighting a driver with a wrench (depleting an energy bar), and gaining a two-star wanted level. A devil icon hints at an honor/karma system akin to Red Dead Redemption. Prompts for "loadout" and "storage" appear, plus a vehicle gas meter, indicating fuel management.

The watermarked leaks allegedly protest Rockstar's physical edition containing only a code, not a disc. The leaker threatens further action over anti-consumer practices. GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with an extended look streaming on Netflix August 27.
