Rockstar Games' upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI will reportedly require a massive 210GB download on PlayStation 5, according to dataminers corroborated by Insider Gaming. This exceeds the 149GB needed for Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 and represents more than half of a standard 512GB Xbox Series S's usable storage. The download size may or may not include installers, but either way it's substantial.
If a day-one patch is required, players could spend their first day downloading rather than playing. Pre-loading starts November 12 ahead of the November 19 release, so clearing storage space in advance is recommended. While game sizes have ballooned due to advanced graphics and open-world features, developers continue working to reduce file sizes.
