Google Circle to Search Now Identifies Multiple Objects

Google is enhancing its Circle to Search feature with a significant upgrade that leverages Gemini 3 AI to identify multiple objects in a single image. This update, rolling out alongside Samsung's new Galaxy S26 family, transforms how users can search for information about what they see on their phones. Previously limited to scanning one object at a time, the tool now analyzes entire scenes simultaneously.

The shopping applications are immediately apparent. Users can now circle an entire person in an Instagram post and Circle to Search will attempt to identify and match each clothing item, accessory, and pair of shoes. Google has also integrated its virtual try-on feature directly into the search tool, allowing users to visualize how garments might look on them without leaving the app. This creates a more seamless shopping experience that could drive increased e-commerce engagement.

Beyond retail, the enhanced AI can reason about relationships between objects in images. For instance, when analyzing a coral reef photo, it can identify different fish species and explain how they coexist. Google is initially releasing this improved functionality on Galaxy S26 and Pixel 10 devices before expanding to more Android phones, marking another step in the company's push to make AI an integral part of everyday smartphone interactions.
