Google brings personalized image generation to all US Gemini users

Google is rolling out personalized intelligence features to the Gemini app for image creation, expanding access beyond paid subscribers. The update integrates with Google Photos and the Nano Banana feature, allowing the chatbot to reference user data across Google services when generating images.

Previously, this functionality was restricted to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers who got early access in spring. Now, most personal US accounts can leverage their Gmail and Photos information to create more contextual images of themselves, friends, and family members.

Access restrictions remain: users must be 18 or older for image generation and editing features, while 13-year-olds can use basic image generation. The multilingual support includes 11 languages like English, Spanish, French, and German.

This expansion reflects Google's push to make AI tools more universally accessible while maintaining safety guardrails. The feature bridges personal data with creative AI capabilities, potentially making Gemini more competitive against other image generation platforms.
