The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) proposes banning products from nine companies suspected of selling rebranded and re-shelled DJI drones and cameras. The agency targets Cogito, Fikaxo, Lyno Dynamics, Skyhigh Tech, Spatial Hover, SZ Knowact, Wave Go, Xtra and XAG, stating they "pose an unacceptable risk" to US national security.

A week earlier, the FCC only proposed $25,000 fines for evading inquiries about the Covered List. In December 2025, the commission added all new foreign-made drones to that list, which prohibits imports due to security concerns. DJI called the decision disappointing and claimed concerns reflect protectionism.

The proposed ban includes "certain previously authorized equipment" suspected as re-shelled older DJI models. In October 2025, the commission voted to retroactively ban devices from Covered List companies. The FCC seeks public comments with "specific evidence" over 30 days.
