Devils on the Moon Pinball Brings Classic Pinball Charm to Playdate

Devils on the Moon Pinball delivers a surprisingly detailed pinball experience to the Playdate handheld. Developed by Amano (Mario and JP), this is their third Playdate title, directly inspired by the beloved Pokémon Pinball. The game scratches the itch for classic pinball without needing a full-size table, offering simple controls: left d-pad for left flipper, A for right flipper, and down d-pad for launch.

Tilt controls via right/up d-pad or B button add depth, though the crank remains unused. The physics are described as 'stylized' rather than fully realistic, with a wider screen requiring a slightly floatier ball feel. Three vertical levels replace traditional ramps, each with its own flippers, and boss battles involve whacking giant enemies.

The presentation is excellent for the platform, with no lag, a distinct visual identity, and fitting sound effects.
