The anime streaming service Crunchyroll has started appearing on the Appning app store, expanding its reach to in-car infotainment systems. Appning is available in vehicles from over 40 brands, including BMW, Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen Group, Mini, Lotus, and SAIC Motor. Crunchyroll is already accessible in BMW cars and will roll out to more vehicles later, according to Appning.

The service will be available directly within connected car environments across global regions, including Asia, Australia, Europe, India, Latin America, and North America, Crunchyroll announced on LinkedIn. As a safety measure, video streaming typically only works on infotainment systems while the car is parked.

However, Crunchyroll won't be available on the cancelled Afeela 1 from parent company Sony and Honda, as the companies scrapped the car project months ago.
