Engadget has concluded its coverage of CES 2026, the world's largest consumer electronics show, by announcing its prestigious Best of CES awards. The publication handed out 15 awards, crowning Lego Smart Play as the 'Best of the Best' winner. According to Editor-in-Chief Aaron Souppouris, Lego's entry is the 'antithesis of the typical CES product' because it focuses on screen-free, physical interaction.

The Lego Smart Play system uses a Smart Brick with a 4.1mm ASIC chip, sensors, and a speaker to react to play without needing a smartphone. Other major winners included LG's Wallpaper TV for Best TV, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold for Best Mobile Tech, and IKEA's affordable Matter-compatible smart home lineup. Beyond consumer gadgets, NVIDIA announced the start of production for its Vera Rubin supercomputer and introduced Alpamayo, an open-source AI model for autonomous vehicle reasoning.

This year's show highlighted a pivot towards practical AI applications and innovative form factors.
