California's Attorney General has released new evidence in the state's antitrust lawsuit against Amazon, revealing allegations that the e-commerce giant pressured brands to raise prices on competing retailers like Walmart and Target. The unredacted filing shows Amazon allegedly reached out to vendors demanding they "fix" retail prices on other websites or face consequences.

The filing includes specific examples of Amazon's tactics. In one case, Amazon emailed security camera company Arlo noting its camera was priced at $549.93 on Walmart and demanded it "go back up." Arlo raised the price to $649.99, and Amazon thanked the company for its "quick action." Similar pressure was applied to Levi Hanes, and Levi's and Hanes regarding their products on Walmart and Target.

The 2022 lawsuit claims Amazon used its "overwhelming bargaining leverage" to force compliance, threatening sellers with loss of buy buttons and prominent listings. Amazon dismissed the filing as a distraction from a weak case, maintaining it's "America's lowest-priced online retailer." The trial is scheduled for next year.
