The Ayaneo Next 2, a Windows-based handheld PC, is now available for pre-order. This device boasts a large 9-inch OLED display with a 2,400 x 1,504 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It's powered by an AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip and a substantial 115Mh battery. The Next 2 aims to compete with other high-end handhelds, but its size and price point set it apart.

Compared to rivals like the Steam Deck OLED and Lenovo Legion Go 2, the Ayaneo Next 2 offers a more expansive screen and a larger battery capacity. Its weight is also considerable, weighing in at around 3.14 pounds. It includes dual touchpads, Hall Effect sticks, an 8-way D-Pad, and customizable rear buttons. The device's impressive specs come at a cost.

With multiple configurations available, the entry-level model with 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is priced at $1,999, or $1,799 for early birds. Upgrading to a more powerful CPU and increased storage pushes the price even higher, with the top-end model costing up to $4,299 at full price. Ayaneo is clearly targeting a niche market willing to pay a premium for a high-performance handheld. The device presents a bold entry into the high-end gaming handheld market.
