ASUS has refined its innovative dual-screen laptop with the 2026 Zenbook Duo, addressing previous concerns while maintaining its unique selling point: two 14.3-inch OLED displays with 144Hz refresh rates and 2,880 x 1,800 resolution. The redesign makes the laptop five percent more compact while keeping the weight at 3.6 pounds, and the new hideaway hinge reduces the gap between screens for a more seamless experience. Battery life remains surprisingly strong at 18 hours and 33 minutes in single-screen mode, thanks to an upgraded 99Wh battery.

Performance comes from Intel's latest Core Ultra processors, with the review unit featuring the top-tier X9 388H chip. While ASUS limits the thermal design power to 45 watts (below the chip's 80-watt turbo limit), the laptop still delivers smooth productivity performance. The integrated Arc B390 GPU provides enough power for gaming, maintaining 55-60 fps in Elden Ring at 1,920 x 1,200 resolution on high settings. The detachable keyboard offers flexibility, allowing users to position it anywhere or use the lower screen as a virtual keyboard and widget display.

Priced starting at $2,100, the Zenbook Duo costs more than comparable single-screen laptops like the Dell XPS 14, but the dual-display productivity benefits justify the premium for many users. With improved design, better battery life, and enhanced displays, ASUS has created a compelling argument for why two screens really are better than one.
