Clint Hocking, the creative director of Assassin's Creed Hexe, has left Ubisoft after a 20-year career with the company. The departure was announced during a staff meeting this week, marking another high-profile exit from the troubled publisher. Hocking previously directed acclaimed titles including *Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory*, *Far Cry 2*, and *Watch Dogs: Legion*.

Ubisoft confirmed that development on Hexe will continue under new leadership. Jean Guedson, one of three new franchise leaders, will take over as creative director. Guedson previously directed *Assassin's Creed Origins* and *Black Flag*, two of the series' most critically acclaimed entries. The change comes as Ubisoft undergoes major restructuring, including spinning off Vantage Studios, which now oversees the Assassin's Creed franchise.

Hocking's exit follows a string of leadership changes at Ubisoft, including the departure of franchise head Marc-Alexis Côté, who later sued the company claiming he was forced out. These shakeups occur amid widespread layoffs, studio closures, and restructuring efforts that have affected thousands of employees. The company has also faced criticism for recent high-profile game failures and its return-to-office policies, including firing an employee who publicly criticized the mandate.
