Apple revealed new parental tools at WWDC ’26 that let parents approve website visits and unknown contacts through an enhanced Ask feature. Children can now request access to specific sites or people, while parents must grant permission before chats begin.

The company added automatic image censorship that flags potentially harmful photos, including adult content, gore, and violence, and extends to live FaceTime calls. This move follows growing pressure for safer digital environments for minors.

A redesigned Screen Time dashboard offers granular time limits by activity type and day, allowing parents to set separate schedules for movies, games, and other content. Apple also partners with the American Academy of Pediatrics to draft healthy screen‑time guidelines.

These updates position Apple as a leader in child‑safety software, potentially easing regulatory scrutiny while giving families tighter control over device use.
