The company is reportedly working on an updated MacBook Neo, with details still emerging. In parallel, Apple is preparing to refresh its entire Mac lineup with 11 new models over the next two years, including an iMac update expected this year, with a model featuring an OLED display also in development. The next Mac Mini is rumored to feature mismatched M6 and M5 Pro chips. Concerns about screen burn-in on Macs transitioning to OLED displays have been raised, though Apple devices have historically been known for high-quality LCD screens.

iOS and Software Updates

The latest public beta for iOS 27, beta, is now available, highlighting Siri AI as a key feature, alongside iPhone speed upgrades. This update also includes an immersive new interface for Siri's voice selection, featuring 13 different voices in mac OS. iOS 27 is also bringing a convenient new feature for quickly pasting items from the iPhone's clipboard. Other software updates include public beta 2 for iPad OS 27 and a fourth developer beta for iOS, which contains references to an iPhone with two batteries, and a rebuilt search architecture for Siri AI. mac OS 27 Golden Gate is also in beta, with a quality-of-life improvement in Messages for logging in. For users of encrypted HFS+ drives, mac OS 28 will offer direct encrypted HFS+ to APFS conversion, eliminating the need to decrypt before converting.

iPhone and Future Devices

The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are reportedly entering mass production ahead of their September launch, with assembly partner Foxconn amassing workers. Expected camera upgrades for the iPhone 18 Pro include a variable-aperture camera. Display upgrades are also anticipated for these models. The iPhone 18 Pro is rumored to feature the new A20 chip, promising two major upgrades. Apple is also testing a larger iPhone display, potentially around 6.96 inches, for a 20th-anniversary model. The company is also working on a second-generation iPhone Air, with potential improvements over the current model. Samsung has previewed a creaseless display that could be used in a future foldable iPhone, addressing a key concern for Apple's own potential foldable device.
