iPhone 18 Pro's A20 will be faster, power efficient, cost a lot

The A20 and A20 Pro chips in the [iPhone 18 Pro](https://appleinsider.com/inside/iphone-18 "iPhone 18") will benefit hugely from TSMC's 2-nanometer process, but Apple will pay dearly for the performance and power consumption improvements.

The A20 is on the way for the iPhone 18 generation, starting with the A20 Pro

Apple is widely expected to use [TSMC's 2-nanometer process](https://appleinsider.com/articles/25/08/27/apple-taking-half-of-tsmcs-2nm-chip-capacity-when-production-hits-full-speed) to produce its next generation of chips. This includes the inbound A20 and A20 Pro arriving in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, as well as the iPhone Ultra.

There is also always an expectation of performance improvements with Apple's chips, and especially so for a die shrink. If a leaker is accurate with their claim, it could be substantial.
