Safari 27 AI Tab Grouping Feature Spotted in Testing

Apple is testing an AI-powered feature in Safari 27 that automatically organizes browser tabs into groups. The new "Organize Tabs" option appears in the tab groups interface on test versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. The feature is expected to debut at WWDC.

Tab Groups launched in Safari 15 back in 2021, letting users manually create and save collections of related tabs. Five years later, Apple is automating the process. When users select "Organize Tabs," Safari analyzes browsing activity and groups tabs into topics automatically—similar to how the Reminders app categorizes items in shopping lists.

While Apple hasn't explicitly branded this as an Apple Intelligence feature, it clearly uses some form of AI to analyze tab content and determine appropriate groupings. The feature represents a shift from manual organization to automated assistance, potentially helping users who struggle to maintain tidy tab collections.
