Apple has released macOS 26.6 to the public, concluding its beta testing program. This update focuses on bug fixes, performance improvements, and security refinements rather than significant new features, as Apple looks ahead to macOS 27.

Alongside macOS 26.6, Apple has also issued updates for earlier versions, including macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 and macOS Sonoma 14.7.7. While users shouldn't expect major feature additions, the release notes for the release candidate indicate some changes.

Key adjustments in macOS 26.6 include the deprecation of encrypted HFS+, which will not be supported in macOS 28, and a fix for a bug that incorrectly identified apps as Intel-only. HealthKit has also seen adjustments to its temporal average statistics queries, and the Messages app now resolves an issue with garbled HDR screenshots.
