Apple's M5 Max chipset, designed for the MacBook Pro, has demonstrated impressive performance in Geekbench tests, surpassing the M3 Ultra's single-core score while matching its multi-core output. The 18-core CPU with 128GB RAM achieved 4,268 single-core and 29,233 multi-core scores, outpacing the M3 Ultra's 3,261 and 28,161 in Mac Studio configurations. GPU performance also shows strength, with a Metal score of 232,718 compared to the Mac Studio's 243,531.

These results highlight Apple's continued advancements in Apple Silicon, though Geekbench scores don't fully capture real-world efficiency. The M5 Max will power a $7,349 maxed-out MacBook Pro, set for pre-orders starting March 11.
