iPhone 18 Pro Pricing to Stay Flat Despite Memory Cost Pressures

Apple is working to keep iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max prices unchanged despite rising memory costs across the tech industry. Analyst Jeff Pu of GF Securities reports that Apple is negotiating with suppliers like Samsung and SK Hynix to secure favorable terms for DRAM and NAND chips.

While memory prices have soared due to AI infrastructure demand, Apple's supply chain management appears to be shielding it from immediate price increases. The company is also exploring cost reductions in other areas, including cameras and displays, to maintain current pricing. For context, the iPhone 17 Pro currently starts at $1,099 for 256GB, reaching $1,499 for 1TB.

Pu's predictions align with other analysts who believe Apple's supplier contracts will protect it in the near term. Tim Cook recently confirmed that memory pricing hasn't yet affected Apple but acknowledged it will become a concern later in 2026. The company has already increased its memory orders from Samsung, likely leveraging economies of scale to reduce per-module costs while potentially reducing orders from competitors like Micron.
