The Aqara W200 smart thermostat, announced on April 7, is the first device to support Apple's Adaptive Temperature technology for Apple Home. This compact, well-designed thermostat challenges the dominance of established players like Ecobee, Nest, and Honeywell Home in the premium smart thermostat market.

At CES 2026, Aqara introduced the W200 as an affordable alternative with unique Apple-specific features. The thermostat supports multiple ecosystems including Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Matter, while also functioning as a smart home hub capable of connecting up to 50 child devices via Thread and Zigbee.

The W200 features a 4-inch customizable touchscreen with 480x480 pixel resolution, offering two themes and seven screensavers. While the screensaver selection is limited, the device uses mmWave radar to detect presence and automatically wake the display. Installation is straightforward, taking most homeowners under 30 minutes, and the thermostat doubles as a Matter hub, bringing broader smart home compatibility to Apple users.
