Supply chain reports indicate the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will receive its first major redesign since the original 2022 launch. Digitimes says the new model doubles its number of sensors and sports a visible exterior change. Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to be the headline product, as the regular Apple Watch Series 12 reportedly won't see major updates.

The redesign would mark a sharp break from recent history. The Ultra 3 added only 5G support and a black color option, while the 2024 model brought no meaningful changes beyond a new finish. Taiwan-Asia Semiconductor Corporation (TASC), which manufactures the sensors, reportedly expects major orders starting in July.

Apple likely announces the Ultra 4 at its iPhone event in September 2026. TASC's expected order spike in July lines up with production timelines for a September launch. The report focuses specifically on the Ultra model, though Apple has explored adding glucose monitoring to the entire Watch lineup.
