Apple Vision Pro Helps UK Patients Visualize Surgeries

The Apple Vision Pro is being deployed in a UK hospital to help patients visualize upcoming surgeries, specifically aiding those suspected of having endometriosis. At Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, patients wear the headset during pre-surgical consultations. An app developed by Medical iSight projects detailed 3D models, allowing clinicians to guide patients through potential causes of their condition and explain the planned procedure.

This approach aims to significantly improve patient understanding of complex women's health issues like endometriosis, endometrioma, and uterine fibroids. The program, initially funded by the hospital's charity, has moved from a 2025 pilot to standard practice. This marks a notable shift where the Vision Pro is used directly for patient communication, contrasting with previous surgical assistant roles in other hospitals.
