Apple announced a major App Store overhaul at WWDC 2026, introducing new subscription tools and marketing features designed to help developers grow their businesses. The changes include subscription options for groups, businesses, and schools, plus new recommendation algorithms that explain why specific apps appear to users. Apple plans to roll out these features throughout 2026.

Developers will gain several new capabilities, including group subscriptions allowing one customer to purchase multiple seats, volume purchasing for enterprises this fall, and App Store Bundles that let multiple developers offer subscriptions together at discounted prices. The Mac App Store will no longer require Intel support, allowing developers to focus solely on Apple Silicon.

Users will benefit from personalized recommendations that explain why specific apps appear, plus new parental controls like Time Allowance tools that help manage children's app usage. The overhaul also includes simplified submission processes and creative assets for developers to showcase apps more effectively, creating a more transparent and developer-friendly ecosystem.
