After steering Apple TV's international slate since its 2019 debut, Morgan Wandell announced he will leave the streaming service to found his own company, Kismet. Wandell, who joined Apple from Amazon Studios in 2017, oversaw titles such as "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" and "Masters of the Air," shaping the platform's global presence.

Kismet aims to produce premium scripted series that blend high production values with culturally specific storytelling for worldwide audiences. While Wandell steps down as Head of International Content Development, he remains in talks to continue producing select Apple projects, suggesting a collaborative bridge between his new venture and the existing slate.

Apple will redistribute Wandell's responsibilities: Matt Cherniss will inherit the "Monarch" franchise and other series, while Jay Hunt expands oversight of European and local‑language originals. The shift underscores Apple TV's reliance on seasoned talent to sustain its original content pipeline, even as senior leaders pursue independent ambitions.
