Apple Product Identifier Leak Mystery

Apple's release candidate for macOS Tahoe 26.7 inadvertently exposed numerous product identifiers for upcoming devices, offering limited clues about future releases. Known identifiers include J490 and J491 for Home Hub versions, B525 for next-generation HomePod mini, and J229 for a potential security camera. Additional sightings covered AirPods, iPhone, Mac models, OLED iPad mini, and next-gen Apple Vision Pro.

Among the unidentified codes are unusual entries like Device1,8241, alongside grouped identifiers: A3436 through A3441, A3456-A3457, A3465, and A3529 through A3533, A3543, A3577. These numbers alone provide little insight into Apple's plans.

Analysis of neighboring identifiers yielded mixed results. A3464 corresponds to an M4 13-inch iPad Air for Mainland China, A3442 to a 15-inch MacBook Air with M5, and A3466 to an iPhone Air MagSafe Battery. A3534 appears linked to iPhone 17e variants. Several identifiers relate to the World Travel Adapter Kit across different regions.

Ultimately, the identifier patterns reveal that Apple doesn't maintain sequential numbering across product families over time. The presence of two distinct identifier banks suggests multiple variants are in development, similar to iPhone Pro and Pro Max models. Despite detective efforts, Apple's system remains deliberately opaque for outside observers.
