Apple Hits 1.5 Billion Subscriptions, Misses Targets

Apple has announced it has reached 1.5 billion paid subscriptions across its platform, contributing to a record June-quarter revenue of over $30 billion for its Services business. CEO Tim Cook shared the milestone during the company's fiscal third-quarter earnings report.

The figure represents the total number of paid subscriptions, not individual customers, as a single user may have multiple subscriptions across services like iCloud, Apple Music, Apple TV, and third-party apps available on the App Store.

The Services division generated $30.74 billion in the June quarter, marking a 12% increase year-over-year and a new record for the period. Growth was seen across various segments including advertising, the App Store, AppleCare, music, video, iCloud, and payment services. Despite this growth and a new record, the Services revenue slightly missed Wall Street's expectation of $31.22 billion, though Apple cited foreign exchange headwinds.
