Samsung’s latest July security patch has sparked a wave of complaints from Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S25 Ultra owners. Users on the Community forums report severe battery drain and overheating, with one S25 Ultra user noting their battery fell from 85 % to 5 % while the phone slept.

Another thread describes a double‑whammy: the phone drains 5 %–7 % per hour even when idle, and users say the device becomes very hot. Similar complaints appear for the S24 Ultra and the S24 Plus, though no overheating mention.

Samsung previously faced charging woes with the S25 Plus and Ultra, a problem that was resolved via a software patch last year. Users had reported that the 45W adapter and 5A cable would charge slowly or not at all, and the phone would show a charging status when unplugged.

No official fix has yet been released for the July patch, and troubleshooting steps offered by the community have not helped. Samsung has requested logs from affected users, and the company hopes to roll out a new update soon. Until then, owners are advised to monitor battery usage and avoid leaving the phone plugged in for extended periods.
