Samsung Fold 8 Set to Outpace Fold 6 With Bigger Battery and Crisper Display

Samsung is slated to release the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in July 2026, a move that could eclipse the current Fold 6 lineup. Early leaks flag a 5,000‑mAh battery, a 120‑Hz inner display, and a potential crease‑less panel—features that would lift the Fold 8 above its predecessor.

The Fold 8 is expected to ship with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and 12 GB of RAM, a step up from the Fold 6’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Samsung may also push the battery to 8 inches of OLED, matching the Fold 7’s size while trimming thickness to just 4.2 mm when unfolded, a reduction from the Fold 6’s 5.6 mm.

Consumers who rely on the S Pen will find the Fold 6 still the only option, but its larger 4,400 mAh capacity and slower 25 W wired charging make it less compelling. The Fold 8’s faster charging and larger battery offer a tangible upgrade for power users.

With the Fold 8’s projected price likely climbing beyond $1,999, buyers must weigh the cost against the tangible improvements in battery life, display quality, and processing power.
