Samsung and Google revealed intelligent eyewear at Google I/O 2026, collaborating with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on two premium styles. The devices serve as phone companions, offering voice-based assistance and seamless connectivity without requiring users to pull out their phone. Jay Kim, Samsung's EVP, called the launch an important step in the company's AI vision, expanding the Galaxy ecosystem into a new form factor.

Built around Gemini AI, the eyewear handles navigation, personalized suggestions like nearby coffee shops, and real-time voice-matched translations of spoken language or text on menus and signs. It also summarizes notifications and adds calendar events, all integrated into the Galaxy ecosystem for hands-free photo capture and task management. Hankook Kim of Gentle Monster emphasized that the design feels emotionally expressive yet technologically advanced.

First collections ship this fall in select markets. By pairing Samsung's hardware expertise with Google's AI and premium eyewear design from established fashion brands, the product positions smart glasses as a legitimate everyday device rather than a niche gadget.
