Pixel 10a Lacks Qi2 Magnetic Charging

Google's latest budget smartphone, the Pixel 10a, lacks Qi2 magnetic charging support due to the absence of integrated magnets. Unlike other Pixel 10 models, users cannot add this functionality with magnetic cases either. This positioning makes the Pixel 10a the sole outlier in Google's current lineup that doesn't support the Pixelsnap ecosystem of accessories.

The device does offer improved charging speeds compared to its predecessor, supporting up to 30W wired charging and 10W wireless charging when using Google's 45W USB-C wall charger. These represent notable boosts over the 23W wired and 7.5W wireless charging capabilities of the Pixel 9a. The 5,100 mAh battery remains unchanged from the previous model.

Beyond charging capabilities, the Pixel 10a delivers modest upgrades over the Pixel 9a. These include a slightly brighter display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and a completely flush camera array thanks to 0.1mm additional thickness. The phone ships with Android 16 and promises seven years of OS updates and security patches.
