Pinwheel's Screen-Free Landline Phones for Kids

Pinwheel has launched its Home series, introducing two landline phones – the Spark and the Classic – designed for children aged five to 10. The goal is to provide a screen-free communication experience focused on fostering friendships and developing conversation skills without the distractions of apps or social media. While traditional landlines are becoming rare, with 78% of homes being "cell-only," Pinwheel aims to curb screen addiction.

Both models require Wi-Fi and a power outlet. Parents can manage the devices, approving contacts and setting calling hours. The Spark, a smaller, lightweight option, costs $68, while the Classic offers a nostalgic experience for $79. Pinwheel is offering bulk discounts for 10 or more units. Internal calls between Pinwheel Home devices are free, with service plans available for external calls, including a Friends & Family plan for $6.99/month and an Unlimited plan for $9.99/month.

The Pinwheel Home series began shipping on July 14 and will be available on Amazon this fall.
