Peak Design Mobile Straps Review: Crossbody and Wristlet Options

Peak Design has entered the mobile accessory market with three new phone straps that stand out from the competition. The Mobile Cuff ($30), Mobile Crossbody Strap ($50), and Mobile Crossbody Multi-Strap ($60) are available in Black, Ibis (orange), and Ocean (blue) colorways. Unlike previous attempts from brands like Casetify and Otterbox, these straps leverage Peak Design's expertise in camera accessories to deliver a premium experience.

All three straps use Micro Anchors that connect to your phone case with impressive security. The anchors can withstand up to 50 pounds of force, though Peak Design doesn't publish official weight limits due to real-world variables. The Micro Anchors feature a dual-layer design with a black exterior and red core that shows when replacement is needed. Each strap includes a universal adapter for cases without built-in mounting points, making them compatible with most smartphones and even small devices like AirPods cases.

The Mobile Cuff emerges as the standout for everyday use, measuring just 7.9 inches at its shortest length. It cinches automatically when your phone drops, preventing damage. The Crossbody Multi-Strap offers versatility with a built-in carabiner that holds three Micro Anchor points, perfect for carrying multiple EDC items. While the standard Crossbody Strap is less exciting due to its dangling anchor when removed, Peak Design thoughtfully included a solution by allowing the extra anchor to loop into the strap attachment point.
