OnePlus Watch 4 Launches Quietly Despite Company Uncertainty

OnePlus has quietly listed its Watch 4 on the global website, marking an unusual launch amid significant company turmoil. The smartwatch is now official with fully revealed specifications, though pricing and release dates remain undisclosed. The company continues product releases despite laying off employees and reconsidering its global business strategy.

The Watch 4 brings incremental hardware improvements. The entire case now uses titanium alloy rather than just the bezel, reducing weight to 43g and making the 47.4mm body slightly thinner. It features a sharper 1.5-inch LTPO OLED display reaching 3,000 nits of brightness. However, internal specs remain unchanged: the same Snapdragon W5 chip, BES 2800 coprocessor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB storage. The 632mAh battery promises up to 16 days in power saver mode.

Software receives the main upgrade with OxygenOS Watch 8 based on Wear OS 6, one version ahead of the Watch 3. Gemini is included and the watch carries 5ATM, IP68, IP69, and MIL-STD-810H certifications. Available in Evergreen Titanium and Midnight Titanium, it will likely retail around $350 given similar hardware to its predecessor. The timing creates a dilemma: the Watch 4 is genuinely impressive, but OnePlus has not addressed whether it will support the device given its uncertain future.
