Google Find Hub, formerly Find My Device, provides a robust alternative to Apple’s Find My network. It uses crowdsourced data from Android devices, Wear OS watches, Bluetooth accessories, and trackers to locate lost gadgets. Many users overlook it because the app is still relatively new, but its range of features can prevent you from losing track of phones, watches, or earbuds.

The app shows a device’s battery percentage and whether it’s connected to Wi‑Fi or cellular, including signal strength. This information can be more useful than raw GPS coordinates when you’re unsure whether a phone is at home, in your car, or in a coffee shop. Tapping a device displays its last‑seen time, battery, and connectivity status.

Additional tools include Play sound, which blares an alarm on a nearby device, and Share ownership, allowing a friend or family member to view the accessory’s location for 24 hours. The Mark as lost mode locks the device, displays a black screen with a call‑owner button, and can be unlocked with two‑factor authentication or removed remotely.

If all else fails, the app can perform a Factory reset or remove an accessory, ensuring data is wiped and the device is removed from Find Hub. Mastering these features gives Android users confidence that lost gear can be recovered or protected.
