Google Pay automates credit card bills in India

After managing 14 credit card bills became too cumbersome, an Android Central editor discovered Google Pay's hidden feature for automating payments. Previously using CRED but growing concerned about data privacy, they found Google Pay's bill payment utility through the Bharat Connect system offers a secure alternative.

The process leverages India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) architecture, allowing users to add most credit cards directly within Google Pay. After selecting the Bills section, users can choose their bank, enter card details, and receive instant confirmations when new bills arrive, eliminating the need for separate banking apps.

While the feature works with most Indian bank cards, American Express remains unsupported. Despite this limitation, the convenience of centralized bill management and data protection makes Google Pay an attractive solution for those overwhelmed by multiple credit card statements.
