Galaxy Z Fold 8 Leak Reveals Wider 4:3 Design Targeting Apple

Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8 specs have leaked in full ahead of a rumored July launch, revealing a wider 4:3 aspect ratio designed to challenge Apple's anticipated foldable iPhone. The internal display stretches to 7.6 inches with Quad HD+ resolution, while the cover screen measures 5.5 inches at 16:10 — both Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels supporting 120Hz refresh rates.

The foldable measures just 4.5mm unfolded and 9.7mm folded, weighing roughly 200 grams — potentially Samsung's lightest book-style foldable yet. Under the hood sits the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. A 4,800mAh battery exceeds prior Fold capacities, backed by Super Fast Charging 2.0.

Camera hardware includes dual 50MP rear sensors (primary and ultra-wide) plus 10MP selfie shooters on both displays. Samsung is reportedly rebranding: the standard Fold becomes the Z Fold 8 Ultra, while this new wider model takes the base name — a direct response to Apple's looming entry into the category.

Pricing remains the unknown variable that will determine whether this spec sheet translates to a compelling value proposition.
