Galaxy S25 Gets February 2026 Security Patch Before Unpacked

Samsung has begun rolling out its February 2026 security patch to the Galaxy S25 series, but only in South Korea so far. The update, spotted by tipster Tarun Vats, brings firmware versions vS938NKSS8BZB2, vS938NOKR8BZB2, and vS938NKSS8BZB1 for the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra respectively. With a 541MB download size, the patch addresses approximately 37 security vulnerabilities, including fixes for Knox Guard Manager and Samsung Dialer.

Interestingly, this patch arrived late for most users, likely due to Samsung's focus on the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, 2026. Beta testers enrolled in the One UI 8.5 program received their February updates earlier through Beta 4 and Beta 5 releases, which included the new Direct Voicemail feature. The stable rollout is expected to expand to the U.S., Europe, and other regions later this week or possibly into March.

While the security update is welcome, all eyes are on Galaxy Unpacked where Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series, Galaxy Buds 4, and potentially more details about Galaxy AI advancements. The timing suggests Samsung prioritized event preparation over timely security updates, a trade-off that may frustrate some users but aligns with the company's marketing strategy.
