AI Earbuds Boost Meeting Productivity

I attend a lot of product briefings and meetings, and that’s especially true now as we head into phone‑silly season. Normally I take notes and transcribe manually, but in the last six months I’ve been using Viaim’s Rec Dot earbuds to record and automatically transcribe audio. The earbuds are handy because they’re built into my Pixel 10 Pro XL and don’t add extra gear to carry.

The biggest Larson is the Instant Summaries feature, which pulls key takeaways from hours of meetings in seconds, saving me time. Flash Record lets me record up to four hours locally on the buds without a phone, and I can start recording even when the buds aren’t worn by pressing a case button. The AI‑assisted translation works for 78 languages; it handled la‑to‑English well but struggled with Telugu‑to‑English. The earbuds also offer 11mm dynamic drivers, IP55 rating, Bluetooth 5.2, dual‑device pairing, and LHDC support for higher‑quality audio.

Priced at $199, the Rec Dot delivers solid audio and useful extras. The design is understated with a lightweight 4.8 g bud, a glossy shell that fits comfortably, and decent noise isolation thriller though not as strong as Bose Quiet. The Viaim app is intuitive, though I noted a crash on my Find X9 Ultra that didn’t occur on the iPhone 17 Pro. Overall, these AI earbuds are a great investment for anyone who needs quick transcription and summaries during meetings.
