After years of waiting, WhatsApp Web is finally gaining support for group voice and video calls. According to a report from *WABetaInfo*, Meta is developing the feature, which is currently listed as "Under Development." This move will bring the web client to feature parity with WhatsApp's mobile and desktop apps, allowing users to join group calls from any browser.

The upcoming update addresses a major limitation for web users, particularly on shared or work computers where installing the desktop app isn't an option. Reports suggest the web version could eventually support up to 32 participants, though a smaller initial cap like eight or sixteen users is likely during testing. This aligns WhatsApp's web experience with competitors like Zoom and Google Meet.

Additional calling features are also in the works, including incoming call notifications, shareable call links, and the ability to schedule calls with names and descriptions. While these are still under development, the core group calling functionality represents a significant step forward for platform accessibility, ensuring users aren't tied to a specific device to participate in conversations.
