WhatsApp Expanding Liquid Glass UI to Drawing Editor and Video Player

Following the initial rollout of Liquid Glass on iOS earlier this year, WhatsApp is now working to bring the design to more interface elements. Earlier this year, the app rolled out its initial Liquid Glass revamp more broadly after testing it for over six months. At that time, the company was also developing the new design for elements like the voice message player, message reactions, and context menus, though those changes remained limited to its beta app.

As reported by WABeta Info, WhatsApp's latest iOS beta shows the company is preparing to extend the Liquid Glass look and feel to additional interface components, specifically the drawing editor and the video player's progress bar. The drawing editor allows users to annotate or edit photos, videos, and GIFs before sharing them, featuring buttons for adding text, drawing, and placing stickers.

WhatsApp is updating these buttons to match the Liquid Glass style. The video player is another screen set to receive the Liquid Glass design, with its progress bar at the top of the screen showing playback position being updated accordingly.

While some users still haven't received the initial Liquid Glass rollout on their iPhones, this news continues Meta's effort to adopt the new visual language across iOS, macOS, and iPadOS. WABeta Info notes that this feature is currently in development and not yet available for beta testing.
